Larry DeFoor
President and CEO
Larry DeFoor has been in the document management industry since 1977, getting his start with a local copier dealer in West Palm Beach, FL as a sales associate. Larry spent seven years with the company, during which he opened the company’s first branch in Ft. Pierce, FL. In 1984, DeFoor opened a separate copier company, serving as the firm’s President for six years.
In 1990, Larry resigned to form CopyFax in Jacksonville, FL, forming an affiliation with Ricoh to become an authorized dealer of their products. Since forming the affiliation, DeFoor has served on the Ricoh Dealer Advisory Council numerous times and is currently the President of the Board of I.B.P.I, the copier industry’s premier buying group of independent dealers.
Larry has since formed two additional CopyFax-affiliated companies: CopyFax of Gainesville, formed in 1995, and CopyFax of Mid-Florida, formed in 2000.
Larry is a native of Eastanollee, GA and earned a B.A. and an M.A. from the University of Georgia. He has three children with his wife Deborah who he has been married to for over 30 years.
Joy Shaffer
Vice-President of Administration
Joy Shaffer oversees all of the administrative duties for CopyFax, such as Human Resources, Payroll Administration, and Accounts Payables. Since joining the company in 1991, she has touched upon all aspects of customer service, and is an invaluable member of the CopyFax team.
To supplement her hands-on experience and knowledge of the industry, Joy has taken part in many business seminars and participated in Ricoh University, giving her a complete understanding of the Ricoh product line.
Mike Makauskas
Vice-President of Service
Mike Makauskas oversees the day to day operations of dispatch, service, and the parts departments. Mike has superior training in all Ricoh products and has been with the company since 1995, working as a delivery driver, warehouse manager, parts manager, and a service manager before being appointed Vice-President of Service.
